Positive Energy

66. Fun day with friends at the Arlington Park horse races and waaaaayyyy yummy dinner at Willy's Rib shack (I had the mac and cheese).

67. Nice morning at the beach even though it was overcast.

Which leads to....

Went for my run today in Lincoln park (the park that runs along the lake in Chicago). I took some different trails and was enjoying the different views, especially as I ran past the golf course. As I headed back I took the trails closer to the lake that I was more familiar with. I saw a two track headed into a woodsy area and went for it. It wasn't long before I realized I was running ON the golf course. Ooops! And of course it was all fenced in so that the other recreationers wouldn't be wandering around on the golf course. Only I was dumb enough to make that move. I guess I could have just turned around but I figured if I just followed the fence line there would be an exit much like the way I'd made my way onto the track. Well I finally came upon an exit on the north side of the course and not surprisingly it was locked! At that point the trail I had followed was gone and I was following the tree line that followed the fence. Pretty soon I didn't know where to go so I followed a golf course trail, totally embarrassed to be running by the golfers with my dog. Once again that trail ended and with no other choice I was following the fence line on the opposite side of the course. At that point I knew I'd either have to run back to point I had entered or keep going around until I hit the real entrance. Neither was I prepared to do, so Grody and I tramped through the weeds to the fence. I hoisted him up and Grody, always the trooper jumped to the ground. Then I jumped over. Crossing a few more weeds we were dirty but free!

Beware the Lincoln Park Golf Course.
