To ny cousin Bryan,
I did not want to let the day go by without wishing you a very happy birthday tomorrow!
I am going to be bust at my Nana's tomorrow night, so I will be unable to post on your actual day. I think my mother sent you a birthsay card. There was a checkmark by your birthday on our refridgerator calender. In his last post, socicfrog made a reference to Keith Urban. Do you know that you two share the same birthdate? He is eleven years older than you, being that he was born in 1967 and you were born in 1978. He has a wonderful producer in the form of Dann Huff, an amazing electric guitar player who got his start (along with his brother David) in the Christian Rock band White Heart (check our their debut album on the "ChristianClassicRcck" YouTube account. It is awesome!) He stayed with the band until 1984, where he was a very busy session player, he juggled all of this work when he formed Giant in the late-'80's, which contained veteran Christian players Mike Brignardello and Alan Pasqua. He has been producing country music since 2000 (to my knowledege), and he is doing an outstanding job incorporating rock elements in the Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts albums he produces. I have the utmost respect for him, because he doesnt produce any songs with cheatin or drinkin in them, giving them a postive country vibe. I have been very busy at the library and at home. Did your Dad tell you that he sold Grandpa's riding lawn mower? From what my Dad told my Mother, it sounds like the lawn service did an outstanding job doing Grandpa's backyard. I am already busy raking leaves in our yards for our towns leaf vacuum. Before I go, I have a virtual birthday present for you. I wanted to share with you some selections from the new Everly Brothers album I picked up at Goodwill a few weeks ago, "Beat And Soul", released in 1965. With a phonomenal band that includes Glen Campbell, Larry Knechtal, and Billy Preston, plus having an amazing producr, Dick Glasser, who would produce singers like Vikki Carr and Andy Williams for Columbia in the next decade, Don, Phil, and Co. spent three days in the studio, from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM, working on this amazing record. Here are two great samples (you have to type this in manually because I do not know how to link yet):
"Money"--Side One Track Two. The Everlys transform this early Motown hit into a real rocking opus with plenty of attuitude and swagger:

"My Babe" Side Two track three. Supposedly the first song recorded for the project. It took the Everlys and the band 24 takes to come up with the rocking version on display here:

I truly hope that you, Sarah, and Grody have a wonderful birthday filled with God's blessings. I truly hope you wil get to know the Lord in a deeper way. We need His help to make it through the trying times we are living in today.Enjoy your special day, and I will talk to you again really soon!

Hello Bryan and Sarah,
I hope the arrival of this note has the two of you in fine form and in good spirits. Grandma and Grandpa have been on my minds a lot today at the news of the passing of Andy Rooney. "60 Minutes" was one of their favorite television shows, and whenever they would go to their house on a Sunday holiday visit, they would have it on in the background while they talked. On the noon news today on CNN Radio they had a really funny clip from him in 1986 talking about the cotton in pill bottles. He was truly one of a kind, and he will most certainly be missed. I look forward to Sarah posting again with another entry soon on this site, and I hope you are getting your Thanksgiving plans my ready like my Auntie Rachel in Berwyn is doing right now. Are you doing Bryan's mother again for Thanksgiving again this year or is it somewhere else? Sarah can leave a comment here just like she did for me last year. I apologize for the typos in your birthday letter above, Bryan. I was on a computer that makes the comment box look very, very tiny. Even though the song is two years old, and country music is not your thing, I strongly suggest you check out Martina McBride's "Ride" video on her YouTube VEVO channel. It has a great message, plus, in my opinion, it is one of Dann Huff's finest productions (the song, not the video). Have a wonderful week, and I will touch base again really soon!

Hi Son
I know you don't look at this very often but I thought I would put something here for you to read. I can't believe how fast time is going by. It sure is true that once you turn 60 time actually flies by. I am actually happy that you are all going to Michigan for Thanksgiving. I called Aunt Linda to see what they are planning on doing, going away or staying home. Last two years they went over to the lady Linda cleaned for and was her friend (the one that gave her her car for Christmas last year), Mrs.Page. Well she passed away last month. She was 95 or so. Well she wasn't sure yet, so I said it was up to her if she wanted us to come down. With having the baby they haven't decided yet. Doesn't really matter to us we will go to Maxon Manor again, Sounds good to me. They have an awesome buffet. Well time to sign off. I will talk to you soon. Love and miss you all.

Mom

Hello Bryan,
Thanks to Mom Meck, I now know how the two of you are going to be spending Thanksgiving! For your cousin Jarred and his family, It is a huge question mark, because last Saturday, my Nana passed away suddenly. We knew it would not be too much longer, but we honestly thought she would at least stay alive throughout the holidays. The funeral is Saturday, and I am bringing up one of the elements for communion, along with my cousins Michelle and Sarah. Following the service, we are going to have a small gathering of cold food and fellowship at Nana's house, so please keep me and my mother and father in your prayers. BTW Bryan, since he did not register his vacation time earlier, now Uncle Joe is planning to come over to Grandpa's house at Christmastime to pick up his staff, while your dad, Bryan, is planning is to go over there on Saturday while we are celebrating my Nana's life over in Oglesby. I may post a Thanksgiving greeting on Tuesday, but, in the meantime, enjoy packing for Michegan and I will touch base with you again really soon! Have a great night.

You can go to shieldsfuneralchapel.com, click on obituaries, and you can read about the extraordinary life of Bernice "Nana" Urbino that my mother helped put together and post your condolences. Hers is the top obituary.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Jarred

"Over The river/And through the woods/To the state of Motown we go.." Hope the two of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving on Thursday. This year, we are going to have Thanksgiving Dinner at a restaurant this year because of all we have experienced in the last couple of weeks. BTW Bryan, your dad and Darcy came to Nana's funeral on Saturday and told me that he reads my posts here to find out what's going on!! We were so blessed and touched at the outpouring of people who came out to honor the remarkable woman that is my Nana at her funeral and reception last Saturday. Before I go, I wanted to let you know that you two picked out an amazing symphathy card. I was touch and impressed. It was waiting for us when we came from the days festivities on Saturday. I am so ready to launch into the Holiday season. As the classic song from Mame says, "We Need A Little Christmas" after the last few weeks. Enjoy Michigan and I will touch base again soon!
Happy Thanksgiving from Bryan's cousin Jarred and the rest of the Zera family!

Hello Bryan and Sarah,
I am extremely disappointed that you have not yet posted any Christmas-themed pictures on your website yet. At the very least, you should have reposted your "Santa Hustle" picture from last year. We received your Christmas letter and greeting in the mail yesterday. Mom was surprised that Bryan switched jobs. Saturday is our big family Christmas with my Uncle Dale and Auntie Rachel (whom you met at Grandpa's funeral) and my cousins Michelle and Sarah and their spouses, putting the big in Christmas this year. I will post a Christmas greeting here next week, but until then, enjoy what I consider to be the best new version of "Jingle Bells" released this year, by another couple, Jaci Velasquez and Nic Gonsalez from Salvador:

Hello Bryan and Sarah,
On behalf of my wonderful mother and my father (Uncle David to you) The Zera Three in Peru would like to wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy properous 2012. We had a wonderful time at my Nana's house for Christmas last Saturday, with me getting A LOT of M&M's and four records--the soundtracks from "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Carousel", plus Christmas with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Next week promises to be a big one here in Peru--after our after-Christmas shopping on Monday, our Uncle Joe and my cousins Andrew and Spencer are FINALLY supposed to come over to Grandpa's house to pick up the items from Grandma and Grandpa's house that we left on a table in the basement. It has been since 2007 since I last saw Andrew and Spencer, so it should be interesting. I hope Spencer has mellowed in five years (hope hope). With sunshine on tap for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, it is going to be a great Christmas for the three of us, as we try to move on after the sad passing of my beloved Nana. Before I go, I have a great online Christmas present. go to www.youtube.com/user/boyjohn, and on the homepage you can listen to my all-time favorite Christmas album from my favorite instrumental group, The Three Suns. Titled "A Ding Dong Dandy Christmas", it features their guitar, organ, and accordion blend accentuated with chimes, bells, and two tubas. Get ready to experience "White Christmas", "Sleigh Ride", "Skaters Waltz", "Jingle Bell Rock", and even "The Chipmunk Song" like you have never experienced them before!! Merry CHRISTmas from Bryan's cousin Jarred and the entire Zera family!
