Hello Bryan and Sarah,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Here is your first note from yours truly for the year of our Lord 2012 (albeit a week late). We have a lot going on in the last three weeks. For starters, we need to begin on December 27th at 1:00 in the afternoon, when we got to visit Uncle Joe, Andrew, and Spencer at Grandpa's house as Uncle Joe finally picked up the stuff he wanted from Grandma and Grandpa's, including Grandpa's kitchen clock radio, numerous tools, his hard hat when he did construction, all of Grandpa's miltary items, the picture of the boat Uncle Joe was on when he was in the Navy, and coffee cans full of screws and nails. Andrew is doing very well with his welding apprenticeship, and had on a black sweatshirt with pockets and a fluer-de-liese promiently displayed on the front. Spencer is not as wild as he used to be, but he had a fun time at Grandpa's, including finding an old walnut that a squirrel probably brought in, and playing with an old basement light switch cord! Throughout, Mom and Dad kept their coats on, which really surprised me. Andrew showed me on his phone the huge grill he made for welding training, and Uncle Joe showed us on HIS phone the Christmas lights he had on display for the season. It was really good to see them again. The day before that, we had a gift exhange at the Slevin household, where their sons Phil and Josh gave me an Everly Brothers CD, "Rock 'N' Soul" if there are any great songs on there that I like, I will certainly come back here with YouTube links so you can check them out. I received a lot of clothes from my parents, including a blue snowflake shirt that says "I'm Unique"! On New Years Eve, we were on our way back from church when we had to be redirected because part of the Westclox building which housed many plastic materials was deliberately set on fire by two teenagers in the final moments of 2011. It even made national news on ABC Radio the next day (I heard it on WLS). We stayed up till four in the morning and had a plan of evacuation already in place, but thanks be to the Lord God Almighty we did not have to evacuate. That allowed us on Monday to take our Christmas Tree down, as well as get started taking down other seasonal decorations. With Grandpa's stuff mostly taken care of, we now turn our attention to emptying out my Nana'a house (it still is strange writing those words. I miss her a lot) Sarah, hope you have a wonderful birthday, and I will check in next week with a special anniversary greeting for the two of you. Hope the first few days of 2012 have been good ones for you.

Hello Sarah,
hope you are having an enjoyable birthday today, even though it is almost in the single digits over here in Peru today. At least you got some sunshine for your special day. I am looking forward to whatever is on your mind next when your mind turns to blog-entering again.
Happy birthday from Bryan's cousin Jarred!
Hello Bryan and Sarah,
By the time you finally read this note, you two lovebirds will probably be back from your romantic anniversary dinner at a Chicago restaurant, but I did want to extend my heartiest congradualations on your tenth anniversary today! In this day and age, that is a milsetone, so you two should be very proud that you have stayed together this long. In honor of your special day, I strongly suggest you go to YouTube and check out the video for the song "God Gave Me You" by Country singer Blake Shelton. The song was originally recorded by Christian singer-songwriter Dave Barnes, who took it to #3 on the Christian Hit Radio chart and top ten on Christian AC radio. It was one of the top latter format stations, KLTY in Dallas, Texas, that Blake heard the song and determined right then and there that he should do it for his nezt album, "Red River Blue." He was rewarded very handsomely last fall, as his version of "God Gave Me You" went to #1 on the Country charts, something that the Dave Barnes version never did. You will see footage of Blake' wife on their wedding day open up the video, plus there are just enough dramatic vignettes to keep you interested throughout the videos (if you can avoid the pop-ups that appear throughout). Here's to ten more years of Forever Together!! May God richly bless you on this special day.
