Merry Berry Tuesday

I have lots of great memories of picking our own food as child. One in particular was a summer day when my mom drove us out to go strawberry picking. That evening she made fresh biscuits and we had strawberry shortcake for supper! Once in awhile when local strawberries are ripe I repeat this dinner for Bryan and I.

If you've never tried a local strawberry you must! They will turn you off Driscolls forever. It's worth waiting for this wonderful little time of the year. They are truly a special treat.

I got too excited about the strawberries and didn't get a before picture. Here they are mashed up.

Drop Biscuits

Preheat oven to 450 degrees

3 cups all-purpose flour
4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter
1 cup milk (I used almond milk)
1/4 cup heavy cream

1. In a large bowl stir together dry ingredients.
2. Use a pastry blender to cut in butter until you have small pebbles.
3. Make a well in the center of the mixture, add the milk and cream, use a fork to stir until moistened.
4. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet.
5. Bake approx. 10 minutes.

Yum!

I made the whip cream as well, delicious!

Hey Bryan,
Having remembered you're "Where's My Garfunkel" tweet from a few months ago, I thought you would like this song in the Simon and Garfunkel style, "I Love All Of The Girls" from Chicago band the Buckinghams second LP, "Portraits":

Preceding that on the original album is this great should-have-been hit from them, "C'mom Home"

Also, rememebering that you saw Chubby Checker a few months ago, here is his unique version of "Having A Party"

Finally, here is my favorite new song of the moment, brand new band Shine Bright Baby with their debut single, "Beautiful Love":

It kind of has a No Doubt kind of vibe to it, and I play at least three times in a row whenenver I am online.

Finally, in case you are reading this, Hope you have a wonderful birthday on Thursday, Uncle Steve. You deserve to have a special birthday considering some of your birthdays were a challenge with Grandma and Grandpa dying. Hope your special day is a good one.

We will let you know about the latest on Grandpas house when it happens.

Please have a wonderful day.

If you are having problems with the Shine Bright Baby video, just type in Shine Bright Baby Beautiful Love and you will be able to either watch the official music video or the lyric video.

I have the Buckinghams and Chubby Checker albums in my collection. Got them at Goodwill earlier in the spring of this year.

Should your low cost haversack tend to be polarized, they normally use the polarizing filtering that is either riveted as well as sprayed onto the contact. The actual filtering is certain to detachment, damage, as well as delaminate. And the company's polarization will likely be very poor anyhow.
